What you hand us. Whatever exists: the approved project plan or the draft of it, the documents already in the folder, the pockets still empty, and the letter you are waiting on. An empty folder is a fine place to start — most arrive that way. The contact form asks only for your email, your phone, and the stage the project is at.

What comes back. A written first reading of the folder: which pockets would survive a reviewer's pass today, which would not and why, the likely review path, and the one pocket to start on first — usually the site permission letter, because it is the slowest. If the folder is ready to file as it is, we say exactly that.

The honest stop. The review is free and stands alone. Plenty of people take the reading, fill the pockets themselves, and file. The folder pass on the homepage is the same completeness check, run by you, before you even write to us.

What the board is doing. Nothing yet — it has not seen the folder. This is the only tab where the board's calendar is not in play, which is why the slow documents get requested here.

What you hand us. The design as it actually is: the question, the setting, who takes part, what is collected from or about them, and what happens to the results afterwards. Not the cover page — the design. Whether something randomises, generalises beyond the site or is meant for publication as research findings matters more here than what the project is called.

What comes back. The determination, in writing: quality improvement or research, read against the board's own distinctions rather than the deadline; the review path the design points to — not human-subjects research, exempt, expedited or full board — and why; and the plan, written so that every answer on the application can quote it word for word. Where Herzing's current IRB handbook or portal names a form or a prerequisite, the plan names it too.

The honest stop. With the determination and plan in hand, the folder can be built by you from the seven pockets on the homepage. This is the Determination & Plan package on its own.

Why it comes first. A category corrected in review does not return a document; it returns the design. Claiming QI because it moves faster is the one shortcut that can restart a whole file, so the honest call is settled before a single pocket is filled.

What you hand us. The plan from tab two, the instruments in whatever state they are in, the name and title of the person at the practicum site who can grant access, and the names of everyone who will appear on the application. From there, we build.

What comes back.

• The application form, every answer quoting the plan, word for word and number for number.
• Consent forms and recruitment materials, version-matched to the application, every required element present, written at the reading level of the people signing.
• The site permission letter, drafted for the site's own letterhead and the signatory's hand, naming the data and activities it permits.
• Instruments and interview guides, every question exactly as it will be asked.
• The data-security plan, with a name on every blank: storage, access, de-identification, destruction date.
• CITI guidance for every person named — which course, which modules, and the certificates themselves placed in the folder.
• The category claim, stated and argued in the application from the determination.

The honest stop. This is The Complete Folder: built, version-matched and ready to file, which you then submit yourself through Herzing's current portal. Many stop here. Most hand the last tab over too, because the replies are where the folder needs its authors.

Whose work it is. The documents describe your project; they do not replace it. We do not design the study, collect the data or author the findings — the research is yours. What we build is the folder the board reads, so that the board reads your project and not your paperwork.

Who reads it. All three consultants read the whole folder before it goes anywhere; each also owns the pockets she knows best.

What you hand us. Access to file on your behalf where the portal permits it, or the folder back in your hands with the filing order written out. Herzing's current IRB handbook or portal governs who may submit and how; we work inside that.

What comes back. The submission, filed complete, with every version recorded. Then, as the board replies, the answers: a point-by-point response in the board's own vocabulary to each revision request, every revised document re-filed version-matched and nothing changed that was not asked about; amendments drafted when the project changes after approval; continuing-review materials when the board's calendar asks for them. We carry this until the approval is in your hands.

What the board is doing. Reading, on its own calendar. How long a pass takes is the board's own business and we never predict it; the only part anyone controls is how many passes a folder asks of it. A complete folder asks for one. That sentence is the whole practice.
